This is an English-language summary of BICHIKU's Privacy Policy, provided for convenience. The Japanese version is the governing document; if there is any discrepancy between the two, the Japanese version controls.
TRYANGROW (the "Company") sets out this Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describing how it handles users' personal information in connection with the smartphone application "BICHIKU" (the "Service").
Article 1 (Information We Collect)
In providing the Service, the Company obtains the following information.
About account registration
The Service can be used immediately after download, with no email or other registration required (each device is automatically assigned an anonymous identifier, and data is stored primarily on the device). Registering an account with an email address is required only for two scenarios: using family sharing, and carrying data over to a new device.
1. Device identifiers and account information
- On first launch, each device is automatically assigned an anonymous identifier (an anonymous authentication ID). No email address or other input is required at this point.
- An email address is requested only if you choose to use family sharing or to carry data over when switching devices (for sign-up and authentication). Authentication data (passwords are never held by the Company; they are securely managed by our authentication infrastructure provider, Supabase).
- If you do not register an account, your data may be lost if the app is deleted or the device is reset. The app itself displays a warning about this.
2. Household information
- Household size, the gender and age group of each person living with you, whether you have pets and what kind, and allergy information (used to automatically calculate the recommended stockpile amount based on government guidelines). Age group is one of five broad categories (infant / child / adult / elderly, etc.) — we do not collect birthdates or names
- If you use family sharing, the above information shared with you via an invite code
3. Stockpile item information
- Registered item names, barcode numbers, quantities, best-by/use-by dates, storage locations, and registration method (barcode / camera OCR / manual entry)
4. Information obtained via the camera
- Camera access is requested for barcode scanning and OCR reading of expiry dates. Captured images are used only to read barcode and date information and are not stored as images on the device or on our servers after processing (only the resulting text is stored).
5. Location / regional information (not collected)
- The Service does not collect GPS or other location data. We also never ask you to register a region such as a prefecture or city. Earthquake-linked stockpile-check notifications are not filtered by region — they are sent uniformly to every user who has notifications enabled.
6. Device information and advertising identifiers
- If you use the Free plan, we may obtain your advertising identifier (IDFA / advertising ID) for ad delivery, after obtaining your consent via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) or similar mechanisms. Core functionality remains available even if you decline.
7. Push notification tokens
- Device push-notification tokens, used to deliver expiry notifications, earthquake-linked notifications, and similar alerts
8. Purchase and billing information
- Your Premium plan status (active/inactive, plan type). Payment details such as credit card numbers are processed by Apple, Google, and our payment platform provider (RevenueCat) — the Company never holds this information.
9. Support inquiries
- The content of your correspondence when you contact our support desk
Article 2 (Purposes of Use)
The Company uses the information it obtains for the following purposes.
- To provide and operate the Service (automatic stockpile calculation, inventory management, expiry notifications, shopping list generation, etc.)
- To provide family sharing
- To deliver stockpile-check notifications when an earthquake occurs
- To generate AI stockpile diagnostics and monthly reports (Premium plan)
- To respond to inquiries
- To maintain and improve the Service and to consider new features
- To respond to conduct that violates our Terms of Service
- To deliver advertising on the Free plan
- To contact you when necessary, such as for important notices
Article 3 (Third-Party Disclosure and Outsourcing)

Aside from the above, the Company does not disclose personal information to third parties without the user's consent, except where required by law, where necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult, or in other cases permitted by law.
Article 4 (Use of Cookies on Our Website)
Our official site (bichiku.tryangrow.com) may use cookies and similar technologies to understand site usage. You can decline cookies in your browser settings, but some site functionality may then be unavailable.
Article 5 (Data Retention Period)
The Company retains user information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purposes of use. If an account is deleted, the Company deletes the related personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Article 6 (User Rights)
Users may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of their own personal information held by the Company. To do so, please use the settings screen within the app, or contact our support desk. The account deletion feature also lets you delete your account and related data yourself, at any time.
Article 7 (Use by Minors)
The Service is designed for managing a household's disaster stockpile, and it is intended that an adult user creates the account and registers household information. We ask parents and guardians to help ensure minors do not register personal information without a guardian's consent.
Article 8 (Security Measures)
The Company implements necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of the information it obtains and to otherwise manage personal information securely, including access control via Row Level Security and encryption of communications.
About earthquake-related information
Earthquake information used for the earthquake-linked notification feature is based on external sources, including unofficial data from private providers. The Company does not warrant the accuracy or timeliness of this information. See the Disclaimer section of our
Terms of Service for details.
Article 9 (Changes to This Policy)
The Company may revise this Policy as necessary. The revised Privacy Policy takes effect once posted within the Service or on our website. We will provide clear notice of material changes, such as through an in-app notification.
